Youth Culinary Arts Workshops:

Kids Cake

Cake Decorating for Kids

Jun. 8 | 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. | $40 | Instructor: Kara Smith, Adore Sugar Cookies.

During this workshop, creativity is key to frosting and decorating your very own 4″ two-layer cake. Simple decorating and piping techniques will be demonstrated and discussed. In addition to your cake, a take home cake decorating goodie bag and recipes will be provided. Ages 5 and Up. Adult supervision is encouraged for children under 8.

Mermaids and Pirates: Cookie Workshop

July 7, 12 – 2 p.m. | $50 per child | Instructor: Kara Smith.

During this two-hour class, learn the tricks, tips and techniques of cookie decorating with these fun, whimsical mermaid and pirate themed sugar cookies. Techniques covered in this class include: pipping and flooding, detail pipping and stenciling. Learn the difference between Buttercream frosting and Royal icing and how they apply to cookie decorating. All supplies are included and students will leave with six mermaid and pirate themed decorated sugar cookies. In addition, a take home cookie decorating goodie bag and recipes are provided.

Against the Grain: Breakfasts and Snacks

July 9, 6 – 8 p.m. | $55 per child | Instructors: Pam & Simon Bugler, Against the Grain LLC.

Let’s make breakfast and snacks gluten free! This course will focus on creating fun and easy breakfast foods and snacks, all gluten free. Items can also be made dairy free. It’s all your favorite foods without the worry of contamination or cross-contamination.

Against the Grain: Lunch and Dinner

July 23, 6 – 8 p.m. | $55 per child | Instructors: Pam & Simon Bugler, Against the Grain LLC.

What’s for lunch? What’s for dinner? It’s the hardest questions ever! But, we are going to make some tasty meals all gluten free. Items can also be made dairy free. Pizza, pasta, comfort foods, so many choices! No problem with contamination or cross contamination, these foods are allergy friendly.

Monster Mash Cake Class for Kids

August 4, 12 – 2 p.m. | $50 per child | Instructor: Kara Smith, Adore Sugar Cookies.

During this workshop, create and decorate your very own 4″ two-layer cake Monster as well as 4 individual monster cookies. Simple decorating and pipping techniques will be demonstrated and discussed. Edible fondant details will be provided for decorating. In addition to your cake, a take home cake decorating goodie bag and recipes will be provided. Ages 5 and Up. Adult supervision is encouraged for younger children.

Side-by-Side Culinary Arts Workshops:

Unicorn Cake Workshop

Aug. 18, 12 – 2:30 p.m. | $55 per pair | Instructor: Kara Smith.

Learn the basics of creating a smooth surface to your cake frosting with proper tools and techniques. Cookie, chocolate and fondant unicorn horn, ears and eyes will be provided. Discussion of frosting recipes, cake mix add-in’s and baking will be covered. Each student will leave with their own frosted Unicorn 6″ two-layer cake. Simple decorating and pipping techniques will be demonstrated. In addition, a take home cake decorating goodie bag and recipes will be provided.
