Member enrollment begins May 20 for weekly classes. Non-member enrollment begins May 24 for weekly classes.

Summer weekly classes run June 24 – September 9. No classes July 1 – July 6. workshops are held on the dates listed in the descriptions.

Adventures in Clay Workshops

Ages 7 – 13 | Saturdays listed below, 3:30 – 5 p.m. | Instructor: April Morgan | $35 / Members $31.50. These workshops are priced per day so students may attend one or all. Pieces will be fired, glazed, and available for pick up 2-3 weeks after the class.

  • – June 15 – Clay Dish and Pinch Pot: Students will hand-build a decorative clay dish and pinch pot during this session.
  • – June 22 – Decorative Mug: Students will hand build a decorative clay mug during this session.
  • – July 13 – Clay Coil Dish: Students will hand build a coil dish or pot during this session.
  • – July 20 – Clay Flowerpot: Students will hand build a small planter (with drainage hole and dish) during this session.

 

Ceramics for Youth Ages 10 – 15, please make sure your child is between ages 10 and 15. Saturdays, 1:30 – 3 p.m. | Instructor: Jack Norris | $130 / Members $117. The class will begin with handbuilding and then move on to wheel throwing. Clay is provided as students need it, and a class set of tools is available. If preferred, students may purchase their own 25-pound bag of clay and toolkit.

Representational Drawing Ages 9 – 12 | Saturdays, 12 – 2 p.m. | Instructor: Alex Browne | $145/ Members $130.50. Students will draw from life in a realistic style, including perspective drawing and portraits.  This includes people, life forms, landscapes, environments and architecture.

Storybook Making Ages 6 – 12 | Wednesdays, 6 – 8 p.m. | Instructor: Alex Browne | $145 / Members $130.50. What makes a great story? Why do you like your favorite book? Explore these questions as we mix drawing, painting, writing and storytelling. Students will illustrate their stories from start to finish.

Supermix Workshops

Ages 7 – 13 | Saturdays listed below, 1:30 – 3 p.m. | Instructor: April Morgan | $35 / Members $31.50. These workshops are priced per day so students may attend one or all.

  • – June 15 – Flamingo Watercolor Painting: Celebrate summer by creating a festive flamingo painting! Students will be guided through how to draw a flamingo, and then be encouraged to add their own creative touches to create a colorful composition. Students will mix their own colors and choose brush types to gain a greater understanding of the process of watercolor painting.
  • – June 22 – Mixed Media Under the Sea: Dive into the world of undersea creatures in this mixed media session! Students will be guided through how to draw sea creatures, choosing which one they would like to feature in their work. Students will create a wax resist painting focusing on method, color choice, and technique.
  • – July 13 – Summer Sand Painting: when outside and art collide!: Students will be guided through how to create a sand painting. Subject matter will be summer themed and based on student interest.
  • – July 20 – Paintings That POP!: In this session, students will create an acrylic painting in the style of famed pop art artist, Andy Warhol. Subject matter will be based on student interested. Students will mix their own colors and choose brush types to gain a greater understanding of the process of acrylic painting.
