These “Mommy & Me” style workshops are perfect for parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins or family friends to do alongside a student of 3 – 6 years old.

Explore drawing, painting, printmaking, clay, sculpture and more with new projects each session. No prior experience is necessary.

Kids in the Kitchen: 5-week sessions

Have fun in the kitchen!  We will learn kitchen basics about everything from appetizers to zesting and make yummy food.   Plus….you will take home a sampling of a new recipe every week that you made in class!

Youth Friday Fun Day: 6-weeks

Each Friday we will dip our feet into a different project as we create our own pizzas, suminagashi prints, make marker art, sculpt with masking tape and aluminum foil, make macaroni and cheese and paper chain wall hangings.

Storybook Making

What makes a great story? Why do you like your favorite book? These are questions we will explore in this class as we mix drawing, painting, writing and storytelling. Students will illustrate their stories from start to finish. No prior experience is necessary.

Youth Drawing and Painting

This class will cover fun and exciting drawing lessons to build landscape and portrait compositions. Subject matter is based on student interests, and no prior experience in drawing or painting is necessary.

Representational Drawing

As a class we will be drawing from life in a realistic style. We will be covering everything from perspective drawing to portraits. In this class the instructor will demonstrate drawing techniques of how to represent people, life forms, landscapes, environments and architecture. With directions to learn how to create scenic images with step by step drawing techniques.

handbuilding youth

Ceramics for Youth

Formerly titled “Youth Potter’s Wheel”, this class will cover the fundamentals of working with clay. The first half of class will focus on handbuilding techniques to create unique, functional works of art by coiling, pinching and slab building. Next, students will learn proper wheel throwing techniques and explore beyond the fundamentals of working with clay. Students use a classroom supply of clay and tools during this class. 25lb. bags of clay and ceramic tool-kits are available outside of the classroom supply for $21.50 each.
