ZOOM & TASTE: THE EXOTIC FRANCE

May 20, 8 – 9:15 p.m. | $30 per household | Instructor: Jamie Stratton of Jacob Liquor Exchange

Sure, everybody knows that France is a powerhouse when it comes to wine production. The regions of Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhone, and Champagne are some of the most famous in the world and have some historic vineyards and wineries that command some of the highest demand and prices. To get the most bang for your buck though you have to look for some of the more exotic and obscure areas to source cool and tasty wine from. For this class we will explore four regions of France that are often overlooked but have some attractive appeal for quality and price. Come join our Exotic France Zoom and experience the following wines from the comfort of your own family room, kitchen, porch or backyard:

Meyer-Fonne Pinot Gris- Alsace

La Bastide Blanche- Bandol

Dom Pallus Pensees- Chinon

Domaine des Braves Regnie- Beaujolais

The cost of the wine when preordered through Jacob Liquor Exchange will be $89 for the four bottles.

ZOOM CREATOR WORKSHOP: PROCESSES IN COLLAGING

Tuesdays 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM, June 16, 23, 30 and July 7 | $80 (for all 4 sessions) | Instructor: Tim Stone

Processes in Collaging will be all about exploration. How can we repurpose found materials and convert them into thought-provoking, colorful masterpieces? Tim Stone will show students how to create and explore their ideas using various collaging and color techniques. Magazines, old prints and photographs are all materials we or someone we know has in abundance. We will be melding such materials with tape, spray-paint, and oil pastels in order to create new and exciting art.

Supply List:

1. magazines, old photographs, found materials.
2.mod podge, spray adhesive, acrylic gel (I prefer matte over glossy)
3.oil pastels (Sennelier is the brand I would recommend but they are a little pricier)
4.acrylic paint

“As a side note, nothing is absolutely required except to have materials to collage and one of those listed adhesives under 2. Have fun, explore, and constantly be thinking of new ideas! Feel free to ask me any questions. My email is trstone88@gmail.com” – Tim Stone
