Weekly Drawing Courses

Giraffe - Gayle

Multi-Media: Charcoal, Colored Pencil, Pastel and Watercolor with Gayle Clayborn

Learn through exploration in a relaxed environment. Students work on individual projects focusing on composition, perspective, value, color mixing, layering and more in their medium(s) of choice.

Supplies: Students should bring their own personal supplies, such as the following

– Some kind of support to work on (watercolor paper, pastel paper, bristol paper or other drawing paper)

– colored pencils, pastels or watercolors

Portrait Fundamentals Using Photos

Learn the foundations of constructing the human face. Students will learn about placement of features, facial anatomy, planes of the face and individual features. Students will learn from start to finish how to construct and create a finished portrait drawing.

Portrait Drawing

Students will learn how to approach proportions, mass, values, perspective, tone, materials and techniques related to portrait drawing, using casts, photographs and a live portrait model.

White Strathmore Drawing pad 11×14 or bigger, generals charcoal pencils, assorted graphite pencils, kneaded eraser, blending stumps, plus a dry media of your choice (pastel pencil, soft pastel, colored pencil, Conté chalk)

Foundation Figure Drawing

Understand the foundation of constructing the human figure. Student work will cover gesture drawing, methods of measurement and basic anatomy. Students will learn from start to finish how to construct the foundation of a successful figure drawing. Students under 18 should contact Mark Arts to receive a copy of the permission slip.
Ages: 18 + | Students under 18 must submit a permission form with a parent signature before enrolling.
