Fridays, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. | $25 per session.

Advance registration is recommended but not required. Access to studio space is on a first-come, first-served basis.

MONDAY INTRO TO CERAMICS
(5 WEEKS)

This five-week session is for those who are new to ceramics. Students will learn the basic steps for creating handmade, functional pottery: throwing, trimming, glazing, firing and handbuilding. All tools and clay will be provided for this class, but additional clay for open studio hours is available for sale. Class is limited to six new students. Returning intro students, please contact Mark Arts about availability of nonelectric wheels before signing up.

TUESDAY POTTER'S WHEEL

This class mixes beginning students with the experienced and ranges from the basic steps for creating functional pottery to advanced techniques for artistic sculptural vessels. Students work at their own pace in a friendly atmosphere with plenty of individual instruction.

Learn handbuilding techniques such as coiling, pinching and slab building to create unique sculptures or functional dishware. Students work at their own pace in a relaxed social atmosphere.

This class explores alternative firing processes such as Raku and low-fire salt fuming. These styles of firing give unpredictable but exciting results with hands-on experience of the firing process. All skill levels are welcome.
